Conferences
From time to time as the Lord leads, the IAEC holds International Conferences with regional emphasis. These conferences are open to any Evangelical Christian involved in chaplaincy ministry in some way. Since individuals who do not pay their own way seldom truly appreciate what they are receiving, it is the policy of the IAEC that delegates are responsible for their own expenses. The conferences are one of the ways to provide community. At the first conference in Austria Leio Sungo was overheard to say “I never dreamed I would meet chaplains from so many countries!”
These conferences are designed to serve several purposes:
- They provide Evangelical chaplains a wonderful opportunity to gather with each other for fellowship and mutual encouragement.
- They are opportunities to learn about matters which are of interest to chaplains, especially regarding matters of special interest in the region.
- They offer opportunities for continued training in chaplaincy matters.
- They promote the IAEC, providing opportunities to learn about and become members of the IAEC.
International Conferences with regional emphasis have been held in the following locations:
- 1999 Austria
- 2000 USA
- 2002 Brazil
- 2004 S. Korea – in conjunction with the AMCF World Conference
- 2005 Philippines
- 2010 Romania
It is anticipated that such conferences will continue to be held in the future.
